Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé 2016
Lately I've been trying to branch out and taste wines from different regions. Especially when it comes to rose, where I find myself drinking primarily French provincial roses! So while I was prepping for my Memorial Weekend on Camano Island with my family, I decided to try out a German rose. Not only was this my first ever wine from Germany, this rose described itself as having a "zippy finish" which peaked my interest. It's also well under my $20 budget at $12.99.
I lucked out with the weather and got to enjoy this wine on the beach as a cool mid-afternoon refreshment. This wine was not only delicious, but it smelled amazing. As soon as you lift the glass to your nose you get delicious red berries like strawberries and raspberries. The zippy finish turned out to be my favorite aspect of this rose as well. It's not carbonated like you'd expect, but instead have a natural effervescence that leaves you wanting more. Needless to say this bottle went down WAY too fast and we all wished I would've bought multiple bottles.
