H3 Columbia Crest Red blend 2013
First, I'm going to start by saying no sea creatures were harmed in the taking of this photo. My family has a place on Camano Island, WA and we drop crab pots during the summer. This little guy was inside the crab pot with the crab! We released the starfish immediately after this and it's enjoying life in the Puget Sound again.
Now to talk about the wine. The H3 red blend from Columbia Crest is an easy bottle to find in most PNW stores, which makes it a good low cost red to pair with dinner and not break the bank. It's smooth, bold, has some hints of cherry and a decent finish. I tend to favor Washington blends over other regions, so I might be a tad biased!
